Quilting Consultation

To better discuss your quilting requirements when your quilt is “machine ready”, please make a consultation appointment.

I take pride in my work and I appreciate the time, skill and money that you have invested into your quilts.

Quilting Process & Design

All quilts are quilted to your specifications. We discuss the quilting design and thread choice. I can provide you with examples of my work. I offer a range of quilting styles and guidance to meet your needs and budget. Every quilt starts with a design consultation so we can find a design that works best.

Edge-to-Edge (allover designs) – This is a repeating pattern of your choice that starts at the top of the quilt and goes in rows to the bottom. The rows are placed as close as possible to get the best effect. Quilting Consultation, Please allow 30 -45 minutes for your first Quilting Consultation. Includes, Quote, Design, Pattern options, thread choice, and expected finished date.

Custom quilting ~ is an unique style of quilting that takes into account each block, border, and appliqué, using the most appropiate technique to enhance the beauty and the piecing and quilt. Please allow 30 -45 minutes for your first Quilting Consultation. Includes, Quote, Design, Pattern options, thread choice, and expected finished date.

NOTE: Before 1st Consultation Contact me via Text ~ Quilt dimensions and Photos ~Attached a photo of your quilt this is to help assist/ guide the best quilting method. From this I can give you my honest opinion on the best method, price & time frame

Bring to the consultation your quilt top , backing and wadding as three separate pieces.

CHECKLIST

To avoid incurring additional Costs

Wash your backing fabric
Sew a ¼ Stay Stitch around top of quilt.
Square your quilt top
Square your quilt backing ~ STRAIGHT EDGES! Backing fabrics are best torn!
Square your batting
Iron ~ Make sure that your back piece is pressed
Backing & Wadding is a total 12 inches larger than the Quilt Top.
Cut all extra threads from the quilt top.
Mark “TOP” on both quilt top & backing, pinned with a safety pin.
Please do not baste or pin your layers together.

The time you take to prepare your quilt for quilting is well spent to achieve the best result!

Labour Charge for other Preparation ~ $35 per Hour

Once the Quilt is in the Studio

All quilts are stored safely in an individual number plastic tub until quilted.

Once quilts are quilted they are stored in a QSQ calico bag within a plastic tub

There is no obligation with the consultation, you're very welcome to go away and think about or shop around, before deciding whether you wish to proceed with quilting.

Binding Service

QSQ can quilt, block back, do the binding and finish your quilt! Ready to give that special someone!
